Background and Opportunity

Fullerton Presbyterian Church (FPC) is a Korean-American church in Orange County, Southern California. The Korean-speaking congregation consists of around 500 members with two Sunday services at 8 am and 11 am. FPC English Ministry (EM) consists of approximately 70 members, with an average of 55 in attendance on Sundays. EM service runs from 9:30-10:45 am. FPC is often considered a family church as many of the EM members have grown up at this church, with their parents attending the Korean Ministry (KM). In the past years, our EM has shifted from a dependent to an interdependent relationship with our KM, slowly gaining more autonomy in matters and decisions related to finances and leadership.

FPC EM is a close-knit, family-oriented group of servant-hearted believers who are deeply committed to the church and one another. As a body, we have been growing in our understanding of God’s Word and what it means to be a true biblical community. In 2024, we hope to grow in godliness through the practice of spiritual disciplines. More recently, under the leadership of our current pastor, we have grown significantly in our understanding, obedience, and commitment to the Great Commission. With our current pastor and wife heading back to the mission field this September, FPC EM is in search of a new lead pastor. We strongly desire that our new pastor share this heart for the lost and unreached and be able to continue this passion for missions in our church. Demographics

Most of our members are between the ages of 25-44, with a few members in college and a handful 45 years and above. We consist of many newly married couples and families with young children. Members are predominantly Korean-American, though we are open to and welcoming of all ethnicities. Approximately 10% of our attendees are non-Korean. Though we have had a slow and steady influx of new members over the years, about half of our congregation has been attending FPC for over 10 years. More than 60% of our members actively serve in one or more ministries within EM or FPC’s Education Department.
